"Running Free"
18x24in Oils Stretched Canvas.
Inspired by a combination of the Original Photo, taken by Kaya's family and Claude Monet's painting "Poppy Fields in The Summer".

This painting was professionally framed at Jonathan Frost's Art Gallery, Located in Rockland Maine. He does an amazing job, and would highly recommend him to anyone! The frame is Brown Edges, and gold with hints of red, which compliment the colors really nicely in the painting. When picking out the frame, we all hummed and hawed over different ones, as soon as the sample of this frame was held up to the painting, everyone at the same time went "That's it!". Love when that happens.

Kaya is a really special dog with a beautiful story:

Kaya was rescued from Chattsworth GA shelter, and she was extremely close to death, because they thought she was not good with other dogs. An amazing foster who is very good at working with that issue fostered her for us and she was adopted by the Days in Portland, where she is now living a beautiful life which includes going to the dog park. One of the employees at Chattsworth told us she still keeps a photo of her here in her home over her desk at the shelter, to remind her that every dog, even dog aggressive seeming pitties, can surprise us when they get a chance to show what they are like outside the shelter and when given a chance at a balanced life, full of love.

An update from Kaya's family on how wonderful she is doing these days.
"Kaya enjoys snacks and loves riding in the pickup truck with her people. She loves her dog buddies, and is getting along much better with smaller dogs. She socializes well. Kaya absolutely loves people, including small children, and when people ask what type of breed she is, they all all astounded to hear that she is a Pitbull. Kaya is a well-adjusted, top notch pet and my decision to adopt Kaya with Christine is one of the best decisions we have ever made together."

Kaya is such a beautiful inspiration to dogs everywhere that deserve a second chance. No matter what breed, size, young or old. What kind of reputation society has given them. Or the story's they burden. Or the scar's they bare. Every dog deserves a chance to run free.
