A series of empty chairs, follows the Crane paintings. The surrealistic approach continues with chairs found in unexpected places. Mystery is still at the core. The chair, a personal item, absent a sitter, underscores the lack of human presence and the assumption that something , unobserved, has taken place. The artist continues to invite the viewer to participate in interpreting a narrative. Inspired by American figurative art of the 20th century, as well as Vilhelm Hammershøi, Danish painter.
