In this painting, I explored the atmosphere of a quiet evening and the sense of focus that comes with reading in a public space. I used cool blue tones against warm golden light to create a balance between the interior and the world beyond the windows. Loose brushwork and visible layers of color allowed me to emphasize light, color relationships, and the overall impression rather than fine detail.
The work is painted with oil on stretched canvas , sides are white.
