Original artwork description
I created this painting after visiting a small German town. I was immediately drawn to the hydroelectric power station, which conveyed both quietness and dramatic intensity. I was especially inspired by the rich blue of the building and the expressive, overcast sky. The cool colour palette reinforces the mood and atmosphere of the place.
This is one of my most expressive paintings. Bold, energetic brushstrokes and a richly textured paint surface bring the scene to life, conveying the movement of the clouds and water.
The painting is finished with a protective varnish. The sides of the canvas are left white.
