Original artwork description
In human nails XXIII, welded and polished wire pins form an upward-reaching figure whose surface shimmers with a delicate gold leaf effect. The filigree construction seems to dissolve into space and simultaneously take on a new form – a symbol of the fragility and transformation of human existence.
The metal sculpture is supported by a base made of fibre-reinforced, black-pigmented concrete, whose surface reveals a lively wood structure thanks to brushed wooden formwork. This foundation combines organic and industrial elements, counterbalancing the floating lightness of the figure with a grounding heaviness. A waxed steel plate forms the finish and anchors the work firmly in space.
In this way, human nails XXIII unfolds an exciting interplay of materiality and transcendence – between the earthly and the light that refracts in the golden surface.
