Original artwork description
Eggtion Figures - Humorous mixed media media sculpture, polymer resin , copper, steel, and wood. 11 x 19 x 5.5 in.
The Eggs are made of casting resin. I made a silicone mold from real chicken egg and cast resin in it. They are colored with alcohol ink and crackle finish acrylic paint.
Limbs are hand fabricated with copper tubing, wire, and sheet. Nearly 100 holes are hand punched in each figure to create its joints to articulate each figure’s body language into perfection before sealing the joints permanently with fixative.
Sculpture is freestanding on the base with magnet attachment.
This piece is storytelling of pranking among friends. It is slice of life we all experienced on one time or another. It is projection through world of egg people. The egg figures do not have face. They express their emotions and communicate with body gestures. It makes even more powerful scenic storytelling and capturing emotions.
