This was one of three views from the balcony I painted on a trip to Lake Garda, Italy. It is so typically Italian, the way the houses are huddled around the narrow streets and practically built on top of one another. I actually thought the road I was supposed to drive up to get here was a footpath - so narrow! In Gardone, the houses are well-kept and many of them are much-loved holiday homes, nestling on the hillside and vying for the best views of "il lago". I was fascinated by this view into the rear courtyard and over the palm-skirted roof-tops.
This unique artwork was painted on high quality watercolour paper using Windsor and Newton paints. It comes mounted in a warm white mount to fit a 50c,x60cm frame and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist.
