- Heronry
Artwork description
Study of the trees and reflections of a crowded heron nesting site. Based on the island at the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, near Wakefield in the UK, it shows the flurry of nesting activity which takes place before there are any other signs of spring. It is a double image of the trees and nests and how these are mirrored in the water of the lake. This gathering of nests and birds is known as a heronry, strangely enough the other name for it is a rookery.
Materials used:
Copper plate, black and Prussian blue etching ink, ferric chloride
Details:
- Etchings & engravings on Paper
- From a limited edition of 50
- Size: 50 x 66cm (unframed) / 30 x 40cm (actual image size)
- Signed and numbered on the front
- Style: Illustrative
- Subject: Landscapes, sea and sky
