Heron on Coastal Rocks (2026) Original Oil Painting by Anastasiia Aguf

Heron on Coastal Rocks is an expressive oil painting inspired by the Mediterranean landscape. A solitary white heron stands among massive sunlit rocks, almost merging with the complex colours and textures of the rugged terrain.

Thick, energetic brushstrokes build the rocky surface through layers of golden yellow, ochre, orange, turquoise and deep blue. Against this vivid landscape, the delicate white figure of the heron becomes a quiet focal point, creating a contrast between the fragility of the bird and the monumental forms surrounding it.

The painting explores a fleeting encounter with wildlife and the powerful presence of the Mediterranean landscape, capturing light, colour and the untamed character of the rocky coast.
