Original artwork description:

This piece is entitled "Henry Miller". The drawing was made with ink on paper. This work was inspired in the portrait photo of Henry Miller made by the photographer Brassaï in the early 1930´s in Paris. Miller was for many years banned in the US and Great Britain because of his early books such as Tropic of Cancer and more. His banned books were not published in the United States until 1961 after decades of censorship. In this portrait I reflected on Miller´s wild and difficult early years as a writer in Paris. I took his mouth away as a symbol of censorship. His mouth is no longer part of him it has been taken away, however, his right eye still there watching us, cutting through like a knife.

This drawing is one of a kind artwork and was made in March 2013 in Hamburg, Germany. Signed and dated on the front and back. The work is framed and ready to hang.
