The "Sunset Hill" etching/mono prints are a series of imaginative landscapes, inspired by the hills and fields of the South Downs here in the south of England, East Sussex, UK.
This landscape has a strong influence on my work. At the same time I like to explore areas of colour, shape and line and experiment with how the different elements compose an image, like a landscape.
The prints are a playful expression of these artistic ideas, an abstract take of the hills and fields of the South Downs. With these prints I like to invite you to let your mind drift into this imaginative landscape and find your own personal 'narrative' in the image.

These intaglio prints are hand printed from 2 etching plates by me in my studio in Brighton, UK. Each images of the series differs from the others. The one pictured here is "Sunset Hill" no 1.1. The image size is 35cm x 35cm, with a paper margin of 8cm all around printed on acid free Somerset Satin printmaking paper.
