Artwork description
After a long winter the warmer spring sun is very welcome. At the beginning of February the days start getting noticeable longer, about 2 minutes each day. That is twice as fast as in January. In German this is called ‘Lichtsprung’ -“a jump in the light”. “Spring Light” is inspired by this event.
Like the image “Pusteblume” these prints developed through turning the plates and and inking them in yellows, greens and blues creating subtle variations in colour. The circle in the image represents the light change.
It is a print about welcoming the change of the season from winter to spring.
My prints are my expression of an idea. I aim to inspire others own imagination to take these ideas and turn them into their personal narrative.
The prints are taken from 2 etched steel plates, printed on acid free paper by me in my studio in Brighton,UK. They measure about 35cm x 35cm with a paper margin of 7cm all around. Each of my etchings is a unique piece of art. Slight variations within the editions are part of the nature of fine art etching prints.
