Hare in the green (2015) Original Mixed-media Painting by Fiona Plaisted

This hare is sitting in the green grass and the dappled light of the green trees. I hope I've captured some of the magic that surrounds these beautiful creatures. I've layered the hare and background with patterned paper and picked out areas of light with sequins.

I start the canvas with a rough pencil sketch and then I add the coloured paper before building up the layers with acrylic paint. The last thing I add are the embellishments of thread, bits of pottery and glitter to pick out or highlight certain areas.
