Original artwork description:

Handmade watercolor painting “Meteora. Monastery of St. Barlaam” was painted from life during my plein air cycling trip in Greece in 2021.

All day I drove in search of a motive, and only in the evening I saw this view with the warm evening sun and tonal contrasts and I depicted it. I wanted to convey the greatness and beauty of nature and the beauty of the creation of human hands.

The monastery is located on a high steep cliff to be closer to God and further from the bustle of the world. In ancient times, monks performed their devotional deeds here.

The work was painted by professional watercolors Maimeri Blu on 100% cotton watercolor paper 300 g/m2, which guarantees the durability of the preservation of the work under proper storage conditions, decorated under glass.

Also in my shop on Artfinder you can see other original paintings painted from life during my plein airs in Italy, India, Georgia, Ukraine, Russia, Turkey, Greece. And also see my paintings with flowers and still lifes, painted from nature.

Watercolor painting technique is special and very different from other painting techniques. The advantages and features of watercolor painting are that it is difficult to repeat. The picture is created in a single copy, it is a unique work of art and no one else will have such a picture.

All the proceeds from the sale of my paintings go to the realization of my dream of a mobile workshop based on a minibus. Now I travel the world on a bicycle, it is very exciting, but for greater productivity I need a minibus that I will equip and will live in, travel and paint in it.
