My landscape painting of red river gums was inspired by my admiration for these magnificent trees.
River Red Gums are among the most iconic of Australia's eucalypts. They are one of my favourite subjects to paint. Mainly because of their beautiful, ever changing bark and twisted shapes to their trunk and limbs, often due to harsh or varying climatic conditions.
River red gum grow along rivers, creeks, waterways and flood plains, and with a good water supply can attain a height of 12-15 m in a few years
