I am fascinated by palm trees, symbols of escape and travel. These two palm trees seem to dance in dramatic upward light. I played with the contrast between the deep velvety sky and the vibrant greens, yellows, blues and purples. The trees fronds are stylized leaning toward abstraction. Rather than aiming for realism, I sought to convey a feeling of freedom and warmth. The composition celebrates color and transforms a familiar scene into a vibrant dreamlike scene.
