Green Still Life (2009) Original Acrylic Painting by Anastasia Kondratovich

This large acrylic painting was created in the year my younger daughter was born. It depicts an actual arrangement on my bathroom windowsill, which I arranged and painted directly from life.

The composition brings together a green watering can, a potted plant with red flowers, a large aloe plant, and green window blinds. Beyond the window, the view is softly blurred, allowing the objects in the foreground to remain the focus.

Green and purplish tones are among my favourite colour combinations, and I enjoyed exploring the harmony between them in this painting. The red flowers add a contrasting accent, bringing warmth and energy to the predominantly green composition.

For me, this work is a celebration of colour and the quiet beauty of familiar objects in an everyday setting.
