'Green Silk' by Elisabeth Bukenberger
Acrylic on Raw Linen Canvas
60x80x4cm
Completed in 2023
Exhibited at Elisabeth Bukenbergers' Open Studio Event in Berlin

In the artwork "Green Silk" I delve into the interplay of fabric, movement, and identity, using acrylic paint on raw linen canvas. This piece captures a moment of movement, where a black woman, presented in a luminous green silk blouse,
embodies both strength and sensuality. Her hands' positioning and the subtle blur of lines evoke a sense of vitality and fluidity. While drawing from the allure of fashion, my focus transcends mere aesthetics, delving deep into the richness of fabric.

Through its contrasts, the painting explores the richness of silk, revealing how it drapes, reflects light, and casts shadows. The deep green tone not only highlights the sense of vitality, it also serves as a symbol of growth and renewal, inviting viewers to contemplate themes of change. Amidst fabric and color, lies a deliberate ambiguity in the portrayal of the woman. Obscuring half of her face challenges
viewers to confront their assumptions about identity and appearance. The painting becomes a mirror, reflecting the viewer's perceptions and biases. The raw texture of the linen canvas underscores the painting's authenticity, emphasizing the
unfiltered essence of the materials used.

The painting is signed on the back of the painting and will be delivered with a formal invoice.

The painting will be packaged professionally by myself, using bubblewrap, corner shielders and a cardboard box. The painting will be sent off within 5-7 working days, if there is some sort of delay, you will be informed in prior.
