This painting is an entry for the Artfinder project "Portraits from the Precipice." It is part of my "Extractions" series, inspired by the environmentally destructive fossil fuel industries especially the horrific tar sands extractions which blight the earth like a cancer and contribute to climate change. This painting is an abstract aerial view of that devastation.
This is an original encaustic painting on a cradled birch panel. This abstract painting was created with multiple translucent layers of encaustic paint including metallic gold, copper and bronze as well as dry earth pigments. The surface has been buffed to a high gloss.
Signed and dated on the back and wired for hanging. This painting has clean birch sides and does not need to be framed which is standard for contemporary encaustic.
This unique painting will be insured and professionally packed in a Strongbox and shipped within 2 business days from the date payment is received.
I would be happy to ship this as a gift and include a personal note.
PLEASE NOTE: Buyers are responsible for any customs and import taxes that may apply. I'm not responsible for delays due to customs.
