Grassy meadow, Bourton, Dorset
Painting outside,
Under the shady oak tree,
In a heatwave,
Surrounded by nature,
Summer colours.

Words and experience of a wonderful day spontaneously painting the countryside.
Original expressive watercolour painting on hot pressed watercolour paper Fabriano 300gsm 140lb.
Created plein air and then finished off back in the studio.
Signed on the front and back of painting.
Certificate of authenticity.
Wetting the paper sporadically, when applying the washes I leave areas of white. Reflecting the background washes all through the watercolour. Then I create the tree line using a spiral technique for the tree shapes. Applying many tree shades with fencing beneath. To draw the eye through the painting.I used a three colour technique so to have a tonal balance.

Materials used:

Hot pressed watercolour paper Fabriano 300gsm 140lb, sennelier watercolours, Chinese brush, filbert brushes,
