While creating this painting, I wanted to capture the gentle, dreamlike beauty of Venice at sunset. The evening sky bathes the lagoon in glowing shades of crimson, coral, and gold, while a quietly moored gondola rests between weathered wooden posts, echoing the timeless rhythm of the floating city. Rather than emphasizing architectural detail, I used expressive brushwork and simplified forms to focus on the emotional dialogue between light, color, and reflection. The vivid contrast between the cool blue boat cover and the warm sunset palette creates visual harmony, while layered paint and shimmering reflections allow light itself to become the true subject of the painting, evoking serenity, romance, and the quiet passage of time.
