Painted on location in August 2026, Golden Hills of Malvern, August captures the radiant, sun-baked landscape of the Malvern Hills following an intense UK summer heatwave.

Winding paths slice across the undulating ridge, revealing a dramatic contrast between the dry, golden-brown slopes and the deep emerald pockets of valley woodland below. Applying a expressive Post-Impressionist approach, Kirsty Wain captures the shimmering heat of late summer through a sophisticated palette of ochres, raw siennas, soft pink undertones, and vivid blues.

This piece highlights a poignant return to the region for Wain. Having lived and painted in Spain for many years, where the Mediterranean light permanently loosened and enriched her colour palette, this work marks a return to the Worcestershire countryside she first painted nearly two decades ago. The result is a striking fusion: classic British topography rendered with the warmth, freedom, and intensity of southern Europe.

This artwork is executed on high-quality unstretched canvas. The painted area measures 51 x 73 cm, surrounded by a generous 5 cm border of raw canvas.
Stretching Option: The extra border allows a framer to stretch the canvas onto standard wooden stretcher bars without losing any of the painted surface around the edges.

Framing Option: It can also be framed flat behind glass or mounted directly into a float frame depending on your personal aesthetic.

Shipping: Rolled securely in a heavy-duty cardboard tube for safe, cost-effective global delivery.
