Glacier Bay (2017)Acrylic painting

Large ( 40" x 30" - 102cm x 76cm) painting. Continuing my 'powerful places ' series of paintings. This painting draws on my memories of Glacier bay near Jeneau, Alaska. The range of fantastic shimmering blue shades here are just a painters dream.

I travelled up the 'inside passage' on the Alaska state highway, which consist of rather brilliantly, a series of relatively small ferries, which as far as I know are still state owned. The big cruise ships are too large to use this route thankfully.

This painting incorporates my characteristic use of reflective paints to capture the light. I have incorporated a range of sumptuous 'Golden' paints, ultramarine blue, ultramarine violet, phthalo blue, interference violet and iridescent pearl to attempt to capture those fantastic blue shades. Expensive ...but I believe that we are worth it!

Created on a cross braced deep box canvas, painted white on the sides, so you may choose not to frame. However I believe that a plain white frame would be beneficial. Initialled on the front and signed on the back and supplied with a certificate of authenticity.

Corded and ready to hang.

I will only charge what the maximum of what the shipping costs state and if it is less than my shipping charges state then I will always refund the difference.
