Original artwork description
Getting Closer is a large semi-abstract oil painting of a vibrantly coloured magical woodland. A stream comes through it and a deer stag can be seen watching us in the distance. It is 40x40x1.5 inches. To the left are dark but colourful trees and around them curves a small river glittering and reflecting the warm autumn colours around it. On the far bank a small stag can be seen. The painting was created by overlapping many layers of transparent colour and shimmers like a stained-glass window. The inspiration behind it is the feeling of awe that woodland often has for me, particularly when you come across streams and ponds and catch the occasional deer watching you from the trees. Magic is real and it is found in nature. Sussex woodlands are small but numerous and all have their own unique character. Dedicated to all those people who work to protect and restore nature especially in Sussex and the South Downs areas. Painted on deep edge canvas, no frame needed, ready to hang, comes with certificate of authenticity.
