GEOLOGY O1 (2025) Original Mixed-media Painting by Paolo Scaglioni

A series of overlapping brushstrokes generates multiple levels of interpretation, unfolding as a sequence of hyper-stylized environments. I am interested in the depth and multiplicity of these perspectives, and in the possibility of becoming immersed within them.
The work is created on a Plexiglas sheet, whose reverse side is painted black, while the opposite surface is treated with brushstrokes made using wall plaster. The transparency and physical depth of the Plexiglas become integral to the work, allowing the layers to interact and creating a shifting perception of space and depth.
The Plexiglas support measures 0.08 inches in thickness.
