Original artwork description
"Gaudi's Barcelona"... A piece pretty ambitious for me, beginning this was my immediate response to the Terrorist Attack in Barcelona last week. It is a city dear to my heart, its exceptional spirit owing in no small part, to the unconventional, quirky, imaginative architectural Works of Antoni Gaudi. I have long intended to put down in paint something of the impression left on me by this Genius, with whom I share a Birthday. Gaudi was a man who revered God and for whom- as he aged and became more renowned- his relationship with his God became increasingly important. ( Gaudi and I are alike in this way as well.) The cluster of "Gaudi- esque" structures suspended in the sky, represent The Kingdom of God; pondered greatly by the Architect. If Heaven indeed is filled with many mansions prepared for those in residence, Gaudi himself no doubt has designed some of those since his earthly passing. (I am hoping that mine is one of those!)
