Hummingbirds have a long history of folklore and symbolism in native cultures. The Aztecs saw them as messengers between them and their ancestors or the gods. In Native American culture, Hummingbirds are seen as healers, and bringers of love, good luck and joy.
This painting is created with oil paints and fine brushes. The canvas background is painted with 'Mirror paint' from Culture Hustle and is painted around the sides. The Diamond Dust also by Culture Hustle shimmers in the light much like the feathers of a hummingbird.
