Flood plains
The golden light appeared,
To give warmth in Winter,
At the end of the day,
Smoke from the old farmhouse chimney pots,
Blackmore vale landscape, so peaceful.

Words and expression of a rustic, unspoilt area of North Dorset.
Original expressive watercolour created on cold pressed Fabriano watercolour paper 300gsm 140lb.
I moved with my parents to the Blackmore vale when I was 11 yrs old and would cycle all the narrow back lanes in the flat plains. It is still very quiet and used for agriculture and wilding.
I used a wet on wet technique, dropping, pressing and dragging the paint on in a loose, expressive, approach to watercolour.
Three colour mixture, signed on the front and back of artwork.
Certificate of authenticity with my handwritten poem included as a personal touch.

Materials used:

Cold pressed watercolour paper Fabriano 300gsm 140lb, sable hair brush, Chinese brushes, filbert brush, Windsor and Newton watercolours,
