Field flowers 45 (2026) Original Oil Painting by Pol Henry Ledent

This oil painting captures the essence of a wild field. Nature expresses itself here through a play of striking contrasts. Yellow and green dominate the background, evoking the light of a spring sun.
Touches of intense red dot the canvas, suggesting poppies. They echo shades of blue that evoke cornflowers scattered amidst the grass.
The brushwork is free and dynamic. The artist employs broad, fluid strokes to create texture. Paint builds up in places, lending a tactile dimension to the scene.
The balance between figuration and abstraction guides the eye. Precision gives way to visual impression. This approach transforms the Belgian landscape into a colorful explosion.
The technique favors the spontaneity of the stroke. Each dab of color becomes an organic element. The composition forms a dense, luminous carpet of flowers, signed at the bottom left.
