- Scenes of Living
Artwork description
This series, begun in 2016, explores the intimacy and universality of family life through staged photographic scenes.
In these domestic theatre-like settings, each subject wears a hand-crafted paper mask designed by the artist, inspired by Steinberg’s graphic language.
The masks represent the social roles we learn to inhabit—mother, father, sister, brother—and the subtle process of identity construction within family structures.
Between humour and observation, the series transforms everyday life into silent performances, revealing the tension between individuality and collective roles.
