On a crude, white background - which seems to be intentionally left blank by the artist - a horrendously emotional scene unfolds: three characters are gripping each other with the power and energy only a strong psychological dependency can bring forth.
An entirely left-handed painting, "Family" speaks of the complicated and intricate power-dynamics within this ancient human connection. Based on the artists' own subjective perception of this dynamic, this painting puts the characters in positions of delicate contradiction - between love and hate, passion and indifference, abandonment and dependency.
"Although I had a very normal, happy life within my family, I've always struggled with my inner demons and the many psychological and emotional frustrations that come from not being able to express them or be understood" said the artist.
