White Thread belongs to Threads of the Soul: The Pearl Collection, a three-part series that uses the pearl as a metaphor for experience: something formed slowly, layer by layer, within a living body. Across the trilogy, white, pink and black mark different emotional states rather than simply different colours.
In White Thread — Origins, the pale pearl is linked to beginnings, clarity and the possibility of an inner state before it becomes burdened by experience. The work is not about innocence in a literal sense, but about returning to a point of stillness from which thought and feeling can begin again.
