I wanted to frame the timeless beauty of Rome through a quiet café window, where everyday life meets centuries of history. The candles, coffee, flowers, and open book represent warmth, reflection, and the simple pleasures of life, while the Colosseum glowing beneath the evening sky reminds us of the enduring legacy of human civilization. My intention was to invite the viewer into a peaceful moment where history, culture, and imagination exist in perfect harmony.
I composed the painting as if the viewer were seated beside a window, contrasting the warmth of the interior still life with the grandeur of the Colosseum beyond. Golden amber, soft rose, and violet tones illuminate the evening sky, harmonizing with the rich browns of the café interior to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. Expressive brushwork, layered colors, and delicate paint splatters enhance the glow of candlelight, the luminous sky, and the timeless architecture, blending impressionistic atmosphere with a strong sense of realism and depth.
