ENCODED V - Abstract Painting (2026) Original Acrylic Painting by Alessandro Criscito

Encoded explores the emotional language of contemporary digital life, where text, emoticons, and online communication shape the way we express and perceive human emotions. Abstract faces emerge from fragmented, partially concealed surfaces, evoking the symbols through which feelings are translated into digital messages. Using fast-drying acrylics and a slow, deliberate process of dragging paint across the canvas with a metal edge, Alessandro Criscito creates layered compositions that balance spontaneity and control. Between appearance and concealment, these works reflect the complexity of human expression in an increasingly digital world, where emotions are constantly encoded, interpreted, and transformed.
