Embrace ~ Two Women and the Moon (2020) Original Mixed-media Painting by Phyllis Mahon

A romantic image of two women embracing.
The crescent moon pours its pearly light over their pale bodies like a dappled waterfall.

To enhance this watery theme, I've used a limited palette of white, gold and blue.
The gold is subtly shiny and I have attempted to show this in one of the photographs.

It is painted in Winsor & Newton watercolour, blue Derwent Inktense permanent watercolour pencil and white and gold gouache, on grey Khadi Indian handmade paper.
This lovely paper measures 12 x 16 inches and has an attractive deckle edge.

As well as some close up photographs to show the texture of the paper and the surface, I have shown a photograph of the painting in my studio on an easel.
I have also created two Computer Generated Images to show the size in a room and how the deckle edge might appear if the edge were to be "floated" instead of traditionally covering the edge of the paper with a mount/mat.
