ELEGANCE IS AN ATTITUDE is an original collage conceived as a tribute to high fashion, editorial photography and the powerful visual culture that shaped the final decades of the twentieth century, with a particular focus on the sophistication and attitude associated with the 1990s.
The composition brings together fragments of fashion magazines, faces, silhouettes, typography and imagery connected to the world of haute couture. These elements overlap and confront one another, creating an intense visual field where glamour, provocation, beauty, irony and power coexist.
At the centre of the artwork, the statement “ELEGANCE IS AN ATTITUDE” becomes more than a title: it becomes the conceptual core of the piece. Elegance is no longer presented simply as clothing or appearance, but as presence, personality and individual freedom.
The black frame and handwritten phrases surrounding the composition introduce a rawer, more urban language, contrasting with the sophistication of the editorial imagery. Words such as desire, scandal, power, beauty and high heels evoke some of the cultural codes historically associated with fashion and image-making.
