A quiet exploration of balance and stillness, this painting invites the viewer into a calm, reflective space. Layers of whitewashed tones settle gently over deeper greys, sand, and weathered wood hues, creating a sense of depth without disturbance.

Subtle lines, drawn in oil pastel, move softly through the composition—like traces of thought or distant horizons. Together, the works evoke a feeling of serenity and pause, where nothing demands attention, yet everything feels present. A pause. A place where light, texture, and silence coexist.

My new body of work explores stillness, balance, and the quiet presence of layered surfaces. Working primarily in soft, tonal palettes—whites, greys, sand, and muted neutrals—I build each piece slowly, allowing colours to settle, soften, and interact over time.

There is a sense of restraint in my process. Rather than adding, I often take away—washing, blending, and reworking the surface until a calm, cohesive atmosphere begins to emerge. Subtle lines, often drawn in oil pastel, move gently through the compositions, suggesting horizons, traces, or moments that are felt rather than defined.
