Original artwork description
Durlston bay, Dorset
Coming back to a special place by the sea,
Beautiful blue sky,
Jade, deep turquoise and pea green shades,
Colourful winter bracken and grasses,
Looking across from the woodland cliff tops.
Words and experience of my recent visit in late Winter.
Original expressive watercolour on cold pressed Fabriano 300gsm 140lb.
Signed on the front and back of painting.
Certificate of authenticity.
Handwritten poem.
My inspiration from this area of the Dorset coast. I couldn’t wait to see it again and had longed for a sunny, blue sky day. To appreciate the amazing colours and it was so peaceful this time of year. In the Summer the Dolphins will appear if I’m very lucky to be there at that time.
I used graduated sweeping washes of different shades of blue. A pale yellow wash was applied first. I used flat brushes the Filbert brush , Chisel brush for the sky, sea and dried flora detail in the foreground. For dragging the paint I used a Chinese brush and etched out the paint with my nail.

- Watercolour on Paper
