In ancient Greek mythology nymphs (spirits) that dwell in oaks are called Dryads. Shy, mysterious and keeping their distance from humans, they, however, would give their protection to the one who cares about trees. I like the idea of endowing nature objects with human emotions, it gives a feeling of a complete picture of our world.
Original oil painting made on stretched cotton canvas with palette knife. Edges are painted, so there is no need for framing. D-rings attached on the back, ready to hang. Covered with dammar varnish to preserve color and protect from dust and moisture.
