"Dreams and Silhouettes" (2026) Original Oil Painting by Bishan

Dreams and Silhouettes
Description
This painting explores a dreamlike state somewhere between intimacy, romance and melancholy. There is a sense of someone's presence, or perhaps the memory of a moment once shared with someone. The extended arm adds a little mystery, leaving the viewer to wonder whether the figure is dreaming, reaching out to someone, or perhaps becoming part of someone else's dream.
The soft, atmospheric light and blurred surroundings give the painting a feeling of being somewhere between dreams and reality. Some details are carefully defined, while others gradually disappear into almost abstract shapes, much like the way we experience and remember our dreams.
The story remains open to interpretation, allowing the viewer to find their own meaning within the scene.
