Dog Playing in the River (2025) Original Oil Painting by Aleksandr Dubrovskyy

Dog Playing in the River
Some summer days need no complicated story.
The river was bright with reflected sky and sunlight, surrounded by fresh green trees and grasses. Among the rocks, a dog was happily playing in the shallow current, interested only in the water and whatever it might discover there.
That small moment gave the landscape its character. I painted the moving river with loose strokes of blue, turquoise, violet, green and warm gold, allowing the reflections to mix with the colors of the riverbed.
I love the uncomplicated joy animals can bring to an ordinary landscape. The dog is not posing and does not know it has become part of a painting. It is simply enjoying the river.
An original oil painting about a sunny summer day and the pleasure of being completely in the moment.
