Original artwork description
My starting point for this painting is a bird’s-eye view of the banks of the Seine in spring time.I like to represent subjects from a top-down perspective so I can work with shadows. A man and a woman are sitting together for a picnic. I liked working on the way water moves and the sun effects on light. I used large brushes for the green-blue color of the water and I blended the white with the finger. It’s a very soft, joyful and solar scene that invites you to slow down.
