- Derwentwater: Sun Rising
Original artwork description
I saw this glorious golden cloudscape at 5.00am one morning in May. I have always loved the effect when the sun illuminates heavy clouds from beneath, and this was an exceptional example. Finding the authentic colours of the clouds in paint took quite some time, and the reflection in the lake proved even more challenging, but I feel the painting now captures something of what I experienced on the hillside that day. For those who know the Lake District well, the viewpoint is at the lowest point on the northern end of the Catbells ridge, right at the start of the climb.
Materials used:
Oil paints on a stretched canvas panel
Details:
- Oil painting on Canvas
- One of a kind artwork
- Size: 63 x 43 x 4cm (framed)
- Framed and ready to hang
- Signed certificate of authenticity
