Manhattan is a grid, but sometimes it is good to be off the grid. Modern city planning can be so passe. Corners of the City below 15th street, snake and curve like Parisian back roads. It only makes sense that Delmonico’s dazzles in Art Deco finery, just off Wall Street. It sits on Beaver street hidden in plain sight, away from the tourist traps. The interior matches the refined curves of the towering flat-iron-shaped building. There are high ceilings and sumptuous banquettes, the perfect place to spend an evening with that special someone. For a moment, you are above the hustle and bustle, just you, your dining companion, and steak.
