Original artwork description
Deep colours
Prussian blue , yellow, crimson
Natural process,
Wet on wet,
Leaving the light,
Mark making.
Words and expression of my art journey in pure watercolour.
Original expressive style watercolour on rough textured
Saunders Waterford 425 gsm 200lb.
I used a wet on wet technique for the back washes using a three colour technique. I left some areas on the paper dry so it gives the illusion of light partials. Then I used my sable hair brush to dab and press on the ethereal detail around the light. All the time I was just painting not thinking about a particular scene. I scraped out the paint with the end of my brush to make marks. I noticed that there was a scene eventually as I studied the artwork and I could see that I was at the bottom of Wincombe woods looking up to the light.
