Original artwork description
Small watercolour painting done during a camping trip with my kids in the woods at Debden campgrounds near Loughton. Making images from woodland is a tricky exercise because the visual information is so dense. This mixed-media piece tries to grapple with that. The different materials I used attempt to capture the muffled stillness of the woods where the trees emerge from a carpet of matted leaves. Painted on site, this was a little moment of meditation through observation.
