Deauville parasols (2020) Photograph by Samira Malik

84.1 x 59.4 x 0.1cm (unframed) / 74.54 x 55.4cm (actual image size)

£475

Deauville in Normandy, France has long stretches of sandy beaches and the beach is has these fun, colourful parasols which open into little tents to shield you from the wind! This photograph was taken in August 2020, when the world was experiencing the pandemic lockdown and this beach with its wide open space was the perfect antidote.

My work is inspired by a love of the sea, atmospheric light and a combination of those that evoke a feeling of freedom.

Themes: France, Coastal Living, Travel, Light, Sea, Escape, Calm

Colours: Blue, Green, Red and Cream

Materials Used
Museum-quality fine art giclée print on Hahnemühle German Etching 310gsm paper using archival pigment inks.

Method of Creation
Each artwork begins with one of my original photographs and is professionally produced as a fine art giclée print by specialist fine art printers in the United Kingdom.
Giclée printing is widely regarded as the gold standard in fine art reproduction, using archival pigment inks to achieve exceptional colour accuracy, tonal range and detail. This process allows the subtle light, atmosphere and texture within the original photograph to be faithfully reproduced.

The print is produced on Hahnemühle German Etching 310gsm paper, one of the world's most respected fine art papers. Manufactured by Hahnemühle, a German papermaker founded in 1584, this archival-quality paper features a distinctive textured surface that enhances depth, richness and detail while giving the print an elegant, tactile quality.

Combined with archival pigment inks, the result is a museum-quality fine art print with exceptional longevity and fade resistance for up to 100 years under normal display conditions.
