Original artwork description
Named 'Dazzle' after the collective name for a group of zebras, this sculpture of two zebras engaging in the mutual scratching/nibbling technique typical in all equines. It is done to relieve itches in otherwise hard to reach places and in doing so strengthens social bonds. It is also said to release endorphins and reduse stress.
The sculpture works equally well with either side facing forwards, it is entirely hand painted which involved alot of stripes! Particularly as my 'open fractured' style meant I had to paint the inside of each zebras too!
Materials used:
Wire. Water-based resin. Paints. Wood plinth
Details:
- Mixed-media sculpture on Other
- One of a kind artwork
- Size: 37 x 26 x 12cm
- Signed certificate of authenticity
- Style: Expressive and gestural
- Subject: Animals and birds
