Original artwork description
Dark Horizon (2025)
"Sometimes the most profound silence is found in the darkest shades of green. This canvas is my anchor when the voices in my head get too loud."
The Vertical Slice: This 30 x 80 cm work is the purest expression of my "Blinkered" technique. While most see a landscape horizontally, I begin by isolating a narrow, vertical fragment of a photographic memory—a deep forest edge or a valley at dusk. By stretching that single slice across the canvas, I’ve distilled the vastness of the "Dark Horizon" into a focused, meditative pillar of light and shadow.
The Musical Riddle: The title is a fragment of a larger, sonic puzzle. It might be the name of a track, a hidden lyric, or an emotional inversion of a song that played on repeat in my studio. I invite you to seek the musical counterpart to these deep greens and bruised blues; only then can the true synergy of the creative moment be unlocked.
A Tactile Sanctuary: Created with dozens of layers of acrylic paint, this work is a sensory response to the world. As an artist with ADHD and autism, I use unconventional tools like sponges and rags to build a "kaleidoscopic" depth that rewards close inspection. It is designed to bring a sense of grounding, "weighted" calm to intimate contemporary spaces.
