Daffodil Yellow and Dusty Blue (2026) Original Acrylic Painting by Linda Jones
73.5 x 24 x 1cm (unframed) / 73.5 x 24cm (actual image size)
£375
Original artwork description
This original, abstract painting evokes the changing of the seasons when winter slowly fades and spring almost impatiently bursts into colour. Translucent yellows steal the show as they are backlit by the sun framed with soft dusty blues as a backdrop. Expressive brushmarks jostle with dynamic linework as they express the movement of exuberant new growth across the panel. Acrylic paint and pencil come together to finish this joyful piece that celebrates the coming of spring. The artwork is on a plywood panel and measures 73.5 x 24 x 1 cm. The dimensions of this wide piece may mean it could be useful for fitting awkward spaces where other artwork may not feel at home.
The artwork, as always, is signed and dated on the back with my initials on the front. It's supplied unframed and will require framing before it can be hung
I'm always captivated with the brilliant, sunshine yellows of daffodils in the spring, I think it's the contrast of bright colour following a mainly monochromatic winter. This piece is predominantly a colour study although I particularly enjoyed drawing the fluted edges of the daffodil trumpets
